Leafy greens, herbs, and lettuces are packed with various nutrients, vitamins and minerals. Not all are created equal. For example, romaine lettuce has 10 times the amount of some nutrients than iceberg lettuce!
We’ve provided two sources of data on nutrition.
Tools
The first link takes you to the USDA Agricultural Research Service, which is based on peer-reviewed research. It provides an in-depth analysis of each food type. There are over 8000 entries in the database, some of which are provided here. Another useful service they provide is the Interactive DRI tool. Use this tool to calculate daily nutrient recommendations for dietary planning based on the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs)
The second link uses the USDA data and represents these data in terms of % daily value (DV) using a reference diet of 2000 calories. This tool allows you to compare up to 3 different food types.
